Awakening to Life Through Truthful Relationships

Ram Dass

How to achieve deep connection and harmony in our relationships through the practice of openness, honesty and letting go.

Ram Dass presents some powerful wisdom that can help us heal or evolve any kind of relationship. Especially useful for breaking out of the kind of stagnation that often dulls human relationships. Putting this wisdom into practice however is often a challenge that requires courage. Well worth the effort.

In 2008, when I first posted this extraordinary talk given by Ram Dass. YouTube limited video length to 10 minutes so I had to break it down into 4 segments. This updated version of the same talk is presented all in one “video”. The DC Offset has been balanced and the volume has been normalized to -0.1dB.

Jonathan Perelman: Content Is King, But Distribution Is Queen

About this presentation

Getting your voice heard online often feels like trying to talk in a crowded room. So how do you rise above the noise?

In this 99U talk, Jonathan Perelman breaks down the tactics and mindsets used by Buzzfeed to stand out on social media and elsewhere (complete with its trademark listicles). By adopting a social-first mindset and creating content that appeals to emotion, Buzzfeed has grown from a small blog to a cultural phenomenon read by tens of millions of people (including the President of the United States).

His advice? Respect the platform you’re using (e.g. Twitter is about timelines, Facebook is about emotion), stay positive, and tell a story that is “genuine, authentic, and meaningful.”

Heidi Grant Halvorson: The Incredible Benefits of a “Get Better” Mindset

About this presentation

In this talk, researcher Heidi Grant Halvorson explores the mindsets needed to ensure personal growth. Mainly, we should avoid a “Be Good” mindset — one where we are constantly attempting to prove our superiority to the world. Instead, we should embrace a “Get Better” mindset — where we always perceive ourselves as having more to learn. When we embrace a Get Better mindset, we welcome risk and are less afraid of failure, both key to personal development.
